[Blazer- thrifted. Jeans- Macy's. T shirt- Target. Silver Necklace, Black Wedges- Forever21.]
I've been thinking about how amazing it would be to take a fashion illustration class at FIDM in Los Angeles. As I keep doing these blogger sketches I start to think that it would be really amazing to take this somewhere. As in maybe a career. But for that I would need some formal training in fashion illustration as I am inexperienced. Seeing the amazing work of people like Danny Roberts and Garance Dore, I can't help but feel jealous that they get to combine their love of fashion and art into a living. But FIDM is expensive and I'd only want to take that specific class. Who knows what the future holds.

ReplyDeleteCute shoes! I love the blazer. I've been looking for one that is fitted AND doesn't break the bank. So far, the only one I like are the expensive ones, thus, I am blazer-less. Haha

ReplyDeletelove your shoes and necklace!

There's got to be some way you can take a few classes on the side. And the truth is, you don't always need a degree when the raw talent is there. Plenty of people have done it that way. I'm rooting for you!
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, keep the fashion sketches coming. I love them!

I took a short fashion illustration class here at the stitch lab in austin... it was totally worth it. did you see garance's latest post about how she came to decide on illustration as a career? super inspiring!
ReplyDeleteRE: as for hey cupcake, if you're ever back in ATX again go for Sugarmama's. dating someone who's a red velvet cake fanatic has gotten me to try the r.v.cupcakes around town and they have the best by far.

You should def do something with fashion illustration, because i LOVE your blogger sketches! I follow most of the blogs you've featured, and was amazed at how you somehow managed to capture the blogger's essence and mannerisms...I knew who each girl was right away, even though they don't have faces! I also think you have a good eye for what makes someone special, because all of your "3 reasons to check out this blog" are spot on!
